My name is Zareen and I hold a degree in Biomedical engineering. I have served in the biomedical industry both locally and internationally by excelling in my career. Later, I received an interesting opportunity regarding teaching biomedical core subjects that opened up a new career pathway for me. Throughout the years where I was working with machines it was a great switch to work now with young humans. Alhamdulillah, I was able to bring a change in young minds by making a difference in their lives through teaching and learning.

Currently I am associated with Generations school in the capacity of a faculty member. I teach Physics to grade VII, VII, IX & X O levels curriculum. My expertise includes physical classroom teaching, tutoring online as well as physical tutoring. This journey has been full of wonderful learning curves. I have participated and completed numerous courses from Oxford University Press, Cambridge International University, British Council, Leader in me, Holistic Science Fellowship at LUMS, hands on activities using STEM, International Kangaroo Science Competition, Science Book club. I also hold a Pakistan Engineering Council Certificate (PEC). These courses have nurtured my thought process and pedagogy (way of teaching) along with strategies to apply during teaching be it online or physical has enhanced my learner’s critical thinking ability.

In my taught lessons I primarily not only focus on completion of a given learning object of the given topic but I believe there has to be holistic learning and that comes from teaching a learner with holistic approach where connection from previous knowledge needs to be gauged. Establishing connection from higher order thinking to lower order thinking is given utmost importance and provides scaffolding to the learner. Usage of tools from Franklin Covey leader in me training program with different activities also adds more value to the taught concept.

I specially focus on using resources endorsed by Cambridge as well as reference’s books to make learners move from guided practice learning to independent practice learning.

Using interactive activities that involve real time gauging of learner’s progress is my forte. Resources with specific interest and care to activate learner’s critical thinking abilities in the form of presentations, videos , assessments, quiz, and simulated labs are specially well taken care of in my teaching.

At the end what as a teacher I am seeking is looking forward to holistic development to nurture the learning of my learners in future with innovation.
