Level 1

The Level 1 Math Class is designed to introduce young learners to the exciting world of mathematics. With a focus on problem solving and mathematical thinking, this class is designed to help students build a strong foundation in the basic concepts and skills necessary to succeed in their future studies. Through engaging activities, students will learn to work with placement of numbers, understand the basics of expanding and comparing numbers, introduce to the concept of multiplication and develop their logical reasoning skills. With an emphasis on hands-on learning, this class will help students develop a love for mathematics and set them on their way towards a successful future.

Outcomes

• Recognize, write, and compare numbers (up to 3-digits) using place value understanding.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the base-ten model.
• Develop a basic understanding of addition, subtraction and multiplication.
• Recognize the sides and vertices of shapes.
• Measure length, weight, and temperature
• Calculate perimeters
• Understand the concept of symmetry
• Identify and use simple patterns.
